When I was a kid we use to cut "horse weeds" and take them to the fishing hole and use the worms in them as bait. Bluegill and crackers would eat them up. Now that I am older (50+) I can't seem to find the right "weeds". I have a thousand "pea shooter weeds" growing in my fields. Any of you ever fish with horse weed worms or is that just a Kentucky thing?<P>Wall
Wall:<P>I am not a expert on local flora, but I never heard of "horse weed worms" or anything like them around here in E Texas when I was a kid. Cawtaba(Caltalpa tree) worms, yep, but not horse weeds.

If it Flies:<BR>This was a sectional weed that would grow 4-5 feet tall. The stem or stalk was hollow and the worm could be found inside the stalk. We would cut the weeds as close to then ground as we could and take the whole thing with us.
