I just bought an SKB 28 ga with choke tubes. However, I need (OK, want..) more tubes, as well as a wrench.

Looking at different sites and charts is giving me conflicting info.

Some say that you can use Weatherby tubes, others say Browning/Win-Choke/Mossberg tubes are the way to go, and still others say only Win-Choke/Mossberg, and specifically not Browning.

Anybody know for sure?

SKB tubes are not as easy to find as say Browning tubes would be.

Thanks!

It can be confusing... Browning for example makes two versions of tubes, the Invector and Invector Plus... Single and double lead, respectively, IIRC. That could cause some of the confusion.

I originally started this post because I probably have some SKB choke tubes and I do not have an SKB... But they would not be 28ga... I first read your post as 20ga. Sorry about that/

Winchester/Mossberg/Weatherby/SKB/Older Brownings all take standard invector chokes. They are fairly short and may or may not have extended knurled grips (winchoke).

Newer Brownings and Winchesters and probably some others use Invector+ tubes. These are notably longer. If your choke tubes are in the 1.5 inch range, they're standard invector. If it screws in easily and is flush with the barrel, you're good to go.

SKB and Weatherby tubes are mostly (operative word there) interchangeable since the Orions are built by SKB.

SKB has two different types of choke tubes, differentiated by the serial number on the shotgun.. If it starts with 'AS', then they're the 'competition' tubes.. Any other serial number prefix takes their standard tubes..

They're readily available from Guns Unlimited, Omaha, NE..

Call 1-800-752-2767. They'll need your serial number when you call.

Good luck, and enjoy that little 28..

Thanks all! It looks like the standard Invectors may be my best bet.
