Still around - not really a collector, just like the guns, the cartridges and use them.

Howdy Rick, Happy New Year to all. Followed the Savage experts over from the old Gun and Knife. Mostly a reader/learner and not much of a poster. Don't know if you remeber or not Rick but you evaluated a couple 99's for me that were for sale. I appreciate it! And I'm still lookin' for that elusive 99 EG in .308 to go in the saddle scabbord. Someday!!!

I'm still here! Happy new year everyone, and I sincerely wish you and yours the best of health and happiness. I'm going to try to put more focus on the Lincoln this year, so bear with me on not posting any new finds-in fact I would appreciate encouragement to stay away from guns until she's on the road! I'm trying to quit cold turkey for awhile! Wish me luck!

Well,

I'm about as new as they come as this is my first post. I fell in love with 99's about 10 years ago and currently own 5 in varying models and calibers. My best right now is a Mint 375, 99 A that was unfired according to the original owner. Currently looking for a takedown in 30-30 and trying to afford the one I missed at auction recently, the Savage Musket. (Currently on Gunbroker for a ridiculously high price). Being a military historian by trade I have a real interest in that weapon.

Well, hello to all and I hope to make it to Savagefest east this year.

Rick: i really enjoy this site and the comraderie among it's members. i especially appreciate the help from folks like Calhoun who is well qualified, experienced and a real gentleman to boot. i think i have been on the forum for about a year now -and i feel that i learn something every time i log on. i only have a few 99's - four by last count, one model 1920 and that 755a "heavy goose and duck gun". i try to comment and help whenever my limited experience allow me to. i am in Hawaii on Molokai island - waiting for RickBin or anyone else to drop in and visit my small gunsmithing shop for the 5 cent tour. Thanks Again Everyone!

Hi Rick & All
Just rolling through the posts It's hard to realize that the old guard came over from Guns& Knives in march 2002 since then the growth of the forum has been incredible specially when you look at the registration over the last 2 years.
Well done to you all & thanks for all the information that is posted for us to read
Cheers Graham

Happy New Year everyone! I've only been a member for about 2 months. Came here to
learn more about 99's. Just got my first one out of layaway at the gun shop I work at last week ( a 1954 R in 250-3000).
Will post pics when I figure out how. I check in every day or two to read
what's going on mostly. I'm learning a lot about 99's from all the experts here.
