I am thinking about putting up a couple of fixed stands for next year and I like the look of the Strongbuilt Sling seat chain on stand with shooting rail. I mostly use a summit viper and I like the sling style seat and the bar around me. I find it very comfortable and the bar around me makes me feel secure if I were to fall asleep in the stand. So has anyone used the strongbuilt..opinions? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...27_425003003_425000000_425003000_425-3-3

Have not used their tree stands, but do have a couple of their tripods, that have served me well for over ten years and are still going strong!
Merry Christmas!

I think you would be better served by ladder stands.

If the holiday cooking doesn't stop soon, I'll be leaning towards one of these to finish out the season!

I would fall getting into or out of it. I've looked at them in the BPS store and wouldn't feel comfortable with it.

I would fall getting into or out of it...and wouldn't feel comfortable with it. Especially after falling out of it.

Yes that is the biggest reason. There is not really much room to maneuver there. I am clumsy to boot and trust my harness but really don't find out if it works!

Don't do it unless you have one of those buckets like Old Center Church has. I have one that you could have if you were around here. They are heavy and awkward to install in the tree. Then, as somebody else pointed out, they are hard to get in. Now, once you've hung it and gotten in it, they are comfy. I had mine on some family land and they decided to cut the timber. Dad called and reminded me to move it, I told him give it to the loggers.... Anyway, he and his brother took it down, it's leaning outside the barn now, and as far as I'm concerned, can stay there.... No lie, if you'll pay shipping, I'll send you the dang thing for free.

That model is actually very comfortable and SAFE. Hanging them is not fun but once in place they are GTG. #250...don't stress the weight restrictions. It's all about the liability thing. It's about the only lock on I will use.
