Does anyone have any information on these rifles? I've run across one in 30-06. Looks to be a Mauser style action, says made in Sweden. Very good condition with a JC Higgins scope. Any idea of value? Who is HVA?
Thanks,
John

Sears sold the model 51L in the late 50's, early 60's.
Husqvarna actions are very smooth, strong mauser actions.
The barrels were made by high standard and were chrome lined.
Should be a good shooter. A timney trigger will help.

In all my research online about mausers, the one you speak of gets very high marks for quality.

I think they are one of the best mausers made, very tight and smooth, I almost like them better, if you wanna use one for a custom a cool mod is to do away with the bolt release and have the wood line cover that area, it makes for a much smoother cleaner look.

That's ok, I've got my own laugh

And I wouldn't sell mine for anything less than $1200, but the market value is the market value.

Sure as hell wouldn't be getting any of my Husky's for that either. Great guns.

I certainly understand the love for these but good examples can be found in the $600 price range. I bought my last one here for $375 shipped. It was a little rough but solid.

A JC Higgens model 51-L rifle goes for around $400 for one in excellent condition. This is lower than a Husqvarna rifle because the only Husqvarna part is the action.

A JC higgins 51L will fetch about $450. They are a great bargain IMHO.

My S&W branded Husqvarna 1900 (I think) 270 is without a doubt the smoothest bolt action that I have ever handled. Nothing else comes close!
