I just came across a German made 300 Weatherby that followed me home for an incredibly great price. Atop was the subject scope in 4X. It's German made and looks extremely bright for an old scope. Can anybody shed any light on this scope? thanks, jorge

The high quality Weatherby Imperial scopes were made from 1953 to 1974. The scope has the dual dial turret, 1" tube but interestingly not a constantly centered reticle. I'm not sure which company, Pecar, Hensoldt or Nickel made the scopes for Weatherby. The scope should be mounted in a Buehler mount made for the rifle. Whatever you do, keep the rifle & scope together.

Thanks, gents. Just got back from the range and the scope worked fine, holding zero perfectly. Also the Weatherby book had a discussion on subject scope and the main reason Weatherby dropped that scope was the issue of the non-centering reticule. jorge
