Not a 220 fp, but here are a couple reduced loads.

DuPont suggests the charge weights be reduced initially by 10% to compensate for possible variations from the data.



I haven't used any of these loads in a 375 H&H (never owned one to try it in), but I have used SR 4759 for reduced loads in:

264 Winchester Magnum
7mm Remington Magnum
300 Winchester Magnum
338 Winchester Magnum

I load the 250g Swift A-Frames to about 2800 fps out of my 375 H&H using IMR 4064. Very accurate in my rifle. I would decrease about 2 grains from max (Swift Reloading manual) sorry I'm on travel and don't have the manual handy. That would give you a 250g A-Frame at about 2700 fps, plenty enough for pretty much anything in North America except for those big Alaskan brownies and grizzlies, with mild recoil in my rifle. My 375 H&H was a bit on the heavy side, 10 lb without scope or sling.

+1 on the 235 grain Speer's.

73 grains H4895, LR primer, OAL 3.60.

Feels like a 180 grain bullet leaving an '06 at 2800....

Here's a few from my notes. Standard disclaimers apply: worked for me, may blow your gun up, etc.

200 gr sierra FP, 40 gr SR4759 - 2200 fps
235 gr speer semi-spitzer, 42 gr SR4759 - 2300 fps
300 gr sierra SP, 28 gr IMR 4227 - 2000 fps
300 gr nosler PT, 64 gr RL-15 - 2350 fps

That last one isn't really a reduced load, but it is the minimum load for that powder in Nosler #6, and rolls out a relatively sedate 2350 fps. About a 2 moa load in my gun, but doesn't whack you like some of the faster loads with larger charges.

I killed a deer with that 235 gr speer load. Not much of a test, broadside from about 15 yards. Bullet expanded and exited, taking a fair percentage of the lungs with it, FWIW.

Reckon I need to get some SR4759. How about 4895 reduced data?

I used the Sierra 200 gr Flat Nose and 40 grs of IMR 4759 this year. Very light recoil, and I got three test subjects.

All three dropped at the shot!
This could be my new "Lucky Rifle"!

Cold Case,
They are freezer wrapped now and not to photogenic!
A spike buck and two does shot just before dark, bottom of the ninth.
I plan on my son using it on Black Bear next year if we draw tags!
No need to use any heavier bullet unless I draw a moose tag.

Any other .375 Winchester level load recommendations, y'all? If not, I will hie me to the reloading store for some 4759 or 4227.

200 gr sierra I went with 42.0 gr of AA5744 as my start charge.

Finally got to load 20 cases with Sierra 200 FP/40gr/SR4759/Fed. 215 and test them.

Recoil was like a .260 w/more of a push effect off bench. Only grouped about 2 inches @ 100 yards, but that could have been my bench technique or the fading light and thick reticle. Any deer would have been hit with any shot fired, though.

Did a couple of field position shots on the MGM steel @ 75 yards and the 200 grain load rocked the target back hard. Bit of cratering the steel, too.

My first shots through a .375 in 19 years! Will have to show it to a deer this fall or a coyote/groundhog this spring and summer.

May back the charge back to 38 grains and see how it groups. Did not chrono today
