That was back in 2007 before Jeff O finally killed a Cow elk and a Dink Elk to lift him to legendary status in his own mind. The AZZ shot heard round the world also gave him some extra IQ points.

In 2009 Jeff O is now a long range guru, with experience at taking animals at long range.. (haven't determined if he's actually shot an animal at ranges exceeding 100 yards yet)

Oh how things have changed...

I'm guessing that if you took a hike, things would calm down right nicely. Somewhere right now, a perfectly good liberal board is missing it's idiot.

I can only explain that Jeff fears blue, at least hunting with it anywhere in sight. Its like a pantyraid with glow n the dark sneakers on to him....

The "logic" escapes me.

Two? Jeff killed an elk with a Partition from a 45/70 also.

I sure hope this is the year (to use an Accubond on an elk). The wilderness area we hunt, in Oregon, has had very few animals in in the last 3 seasons. Sucks, because our camp, collectively, has a ton of knowledge of the area... the saddles, wallows, how they bail out of certain areas, where they'll be on hot days, cold days... on and on... but it requires elk, to make it interesting!

If so, I wouldn't want a blue dot on the end of my barrel- at least where I hunt, which tends to be be close-up.

I had one day a few years ago that I should have put tape on my muzzle... sloppy slushy snow all day, then it got cold and about froze my rifle solid. I guess enough water got into the rest of the rifle that it might not have even helped, really...

I'm basing two on the fact that in the "Bigfoot thread" I saw some dink antlers, and I recall him talk about shooting a cow elk.

"So, anyway, I suddenly realized there was a deer ahead of me about 40 yards... I got on him as saw at least forked horns, so I knew I had a shooter, but he was behind some oak trees and was a couple steps from a patch of little firs that would basically be the end of THAT if he went into them. He didn't know I was there. I decided that even though he was quartering sharply away, I could slip a bullet behind the ribs on the right side and it would come out in front of the left shoulder... so I went to DO that, and just as I shot I frikkin' SLIPPED on the steep clay and shot him right in the ass!!

As you can see in this picture, I think I'm going to be losing that whole rear quarter. Damn it. This is the worst shot I've made on game so far in my short career... "

Let's get a head count.

Who here agrees with TryMe that there's enough practical difference in the field to warrant calling the 7-08 clearly superior? Steelhead? Calvin? Hawk? JDS?

Who thinks they are the same damn thing for practical purposes, and that what one does, the other does, and that no critter is gonna know the difference? Steelhead? Calvin? Hawk? JDS?

For giggles, you might try going back to the original post on this thread and see what the question was. If you are a Ballistic Minutia dork like Stick apparantly is, run the numbers on the 208-gn Amax at 2600-ish fps too, before you make a fool out of yourself answering wrong...

Just trying to figure out if any of you is actually whack enough to agree with ol' Stick on this one.

Charlie, I will take your good advice and back out, until the four guys mentioned in my post above have stated where they come down on the question that started this thread.

If they answer, we can go from there.
