There is no comparison, fit and finish of my AII's is first rate, they have both functioned perfectly for 20 plus years, they both consistently put 3 shots into half inch.
Wouldn't trade either one of my AII's for two of the newer models.

osix, you make it sound like the 75's and 85's don't have good fit and finish and don't routinely put 3 shots into a half inch.

davesan, I won't respond by saying what my 75 action is like, but I would ask that you spend some time looking at the 100's of descriptions of sako actions of all types that are posted on various hunting/shooting websites and you will find that all of them are reported to be smooth, reliable, and accurate.....even the Tikka cousins.

The A-models are very nice! However, if someone has one that can outshoot my McMillan stocked and bedded 85 Finnlight, you're shootin' into one hole! The new Sakos do not get the love they deserve on this forum.

Thanks for the replys.
Neaver owned a A11 but purchased one off of GunBroker last week in a .243 sporter, probaly paid a little to much but from the pics and discription it appears as new.
Anyone know if the trigger is adjustable ?

The trigger is fully adjustable. The AII is a much better built firearm than the 75 and 85 rifles.

The L61 series are even better still! laugh

Had L579 and AII in 243, both nice, also a 75 grey wolf that out the box, with my loads, shot 2 groups at 200 yds, where the FIRST 2 shots cut the same hole...again 200 yds.

3rd shots opened the groups close to an inch.

The ONLY Sako's I never liked were the ones between the AII and the 75. Like S591 or something like that IIRC. Just not my fancy.

BKondeff, the SAKOs have always been a quality item and the Tikka cousins are excellent value for money.
The newer models may be smooth; reliable and accurate but I personally don't rate them in the same class as the L series or the A series.

Going to bump this back up to the top, just to see if anybody else taps on oldcenterchurch link!

I was doing a little web search on Salo a II actions and this came up, I tapped it thinking I was gonna get a little 10 minute video speaking on how good these actions are. 😝😝😝🤣
