Just got home from The Pa. Trappers Rendezvous, a great time was had by all. Despite pouring rain for part of fri. night and Saturday we had enough good weather to sneak in fun between rain showers. With almost 100 indoor vendors, and many outdoor vendors and tailgaters, You could find anything you wanted. From mouse to bear traps, and scents and baits for every furbearer that is catchable. The demonstrations by many professional trappers were informative and helpful. in the evenings we sat around campfires and told tall tales and sampled homemade wine and brandy. The evenings around the fires evoked images of the mountain men. Even though these trappers use 4wd trucks, and GPS to find their way, they still have that love of freedom that is their heritage. If you've never been to one of these, you owe it to yourself to go. If the opportunity arises please treat yourself to a great weekend. furtaker
