Does anybody have any experience with 130 grain tipped triple shocks in a 30-06? What kind of velocity were you able to get with a reasonable load? Also can somebody run these in a ballistics program for me with a starting velocity of say 3100 fps? I believe the BC is 0.350, somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not a 130 grains.

This is what I get with 150 grain T-TSX. I think the BC is .420 .

Hope this is of some help. 30-06 with a 24 inch barrel.

Hammerdown,
What powder are you using with the 150 TTSX? I am getting the same velocity out of my 22 inch barreled custom '06 with VV N550. Devastating combo.....

I tried it in my Featherweight. Velocities were lower than expected but the accuracy was tremendous.

130gn Barnes TTSX
58gn VARGET 3100 Mild
59gn VARGET 3167 2896FPE
60gn VARGET 3188 .5 Good Load
65gn H 414 3070 MIld

That load is with Ramshot Hunter.
Great accuracy easy to work with.

The VV powders are nice too.

I sure wish they make a 20 Gr TSX for my 17 Remington so I wouldn't shoot those either. LOL

I used to run the 125 NBT and 125 TNT a fair bit in the 06. I used 57 of R15 and wouldn't want to run anymore as back then I leaned on them a bit too hard.

Man Shane you really stick it out there....grin

By the way guy, one of these days I need to get over your way and get some help from you. I've got a turret on my yote rifle now, my 375 Wby... smile

Jesus, Mary and Joseph! You have to be pushing them in something other than a 30-06! 53 Varget gives me 3100-3150. This has to be for something other than an '06 An AI '06 maybe? 60 grains of Varget under a 130 might well disassemble a lot of guns.

I don't hit 60 grains until I get to my 300 WM

If you put 51 grains of Varget into a 30-06 case and add a 150 grain TSX/TTSX you will be within 1/2 grain of most accurate with 80% of the rifles you try it in. So far all of them will come down into an inch with that load. Finding OAL is more trouble by far.

Nope,
My Featherweight has a sloppy chamber. If I load 130gn SpeerHP's over 58gn of VARGET, it will punch 5 of them into .9MOA. The rifle also likes 760 and I have often used as much as 64 grains with a range of 150gn bullets for a velocity around 3080fps and very sub MOA groups. Some batches I drop to 62grains for the same velocities but I recheck every batch of powder I load.

Even with the 4350's it can easily digest 60 grains with 180's and some batches of powder will go to 61 grains and the cases still fall out of the chamber and leave round primers.

The important factor is the velocities are standard range, which confirms the lack of "excessive" pressure that the charges may indicate.

Thinkin that after the big season is over I could make it your way and you could help me set it up for long range yotes.

I think...that a 260 Accu may just have enough gas
