I want to load 210 Swift Scirrocco II for the 338 rum and don't know where to start. I have RL 22 on hand to try and could get something else if I can find it. I think with the lighter bullets, maybe up to the 225 Gr, RL22 should work well. Likely use RL25 with 250 gr. The gun is a plain jane Rem 700 Stainless with 26" barrel.
Shoots factory ammo at about 1.5" groups with 225 Accubonds, but would rather load it myself. I have new Rem brass and Rem 9.5M primers. Thoughts?

Either powder will work, just make sure you have bullets that will with stand the velocity simply put. I like using the 225 grain bullet the most in my wildcat .338/300-Ultra mag.

Powder: RL-22, you can start out at 88 grains and MAX LOAD is at 93 grains of powder....Velocity being 3230fps.
Bullet is a Nosler Accubond, 200 grain weight.

I shoot the 210 TSX over 95.0 grs of R25 and Fed 215 primer. Its the book max but shows no real pressure in my Rem 700, it is plenty fast and shoots great in my rifle.

I started mine with 225 TTSX and RL25 and worked up to the max load which is 98 gr RL25

Mine is a custom rebarrel with a Brux 26" and a tight chamber. I had it reamed so that it does not have a long leade and I can load to the lands and still fit the magazine. Because of this my barrel produces too much pressure at this level with RL25 and I lost the primer pockets by the 3rd reload. Loaded a few at 96 gr and saw the faintest hint of brass flow on the case head. Now I am down to 94 gr and the velocity is still holding above 3100 fps.

Haven't really tried any other powders since I have plenty of RL25.

great info there. I appreicate it guys. Those 225 TTSX loads look pretty darn impressive. I may have to get my hands on some of them to see what I can do with them.

The Hornady 225 grain interlock with 100 grains of Retumbo and Fed LRM primers gives me about an inch @ 100 yards out of my 700. It accounted for a pronghorn at 100 yards, a muley buck at 450 yards, and a muley doe at 250 yards last year. Couldn't be happier with it.

I'm getting a modest 3050 fps with the 225 gr Accubond moly coated out of mine with 93 gr IMR 7828 and Fed 215 primer. Shoots awesome (under an inch at 200 yds) and follows my Burris ballistic plex reticle out to 600 yds within an inch or two with a 200 yd zero.
