What's the best source for commercial 45-70 bullets for BPCR? Or is it better to cast your own?

For commercial, you could try www.buffaloarms.com He has molds, too. I personally like casting my own. SW

Thanks Hogger. I'm not sure after the lyman type 38 sight experience I'll do anymore business with Buffalo. Do the Bluffs Shooters still have the monthly shoot on pumpkin creeK?

Yep! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I keep threatening to go out there, but I work odd hours - and days and am often out of town when they have 'em. Another place to get oversized bullets is www.beartoothbullets.com or www.proshootpro.com I have had excellent results with the Leadhead bullets. Are you from Glendo? SW

I've had real good luck with leaheads bullets in my 41 mag and 405. Have you tried any of the bullets from R&R in Chadron (or maybe Crawford)? Is there anyplace down there in the Bluffs where a person can get lead? I have about 100lbs of pure lead, and a couple of 5 gallon buckets of wheelweights, but I'm sort of saving the wwts for in case bullets get to be hard to come by.

I've got a good stock of R&R bullets on hand. I heard they went out of biz due to a divorce. Dewey's in Bridgeport has a good selection of R&R stuff. I think he loaded up before they folded.
I can't think of one good source for wheel weights. When I need some, I go around to a couple of tire shops with my own bucket. I got 300 # that way once, and still have a good supply. SW

That's to bad about R&R. I have a good friend at the coop tire shop in Torrington , may have to hit him up for wwts. Picked up a card at the Crawford gun show the other day for an outfit called ELKHORN out of Norfolk, may have to give them a call about 45-70's. Don't know if Cheyenne Cast is still going or not may have to do some snooping down there as well.
