Just a question of personal preference, based on any criteria you want. I named my former savage 99 "Olga Lee" because she was so dang ugly. So my vote is for the .35 because it's typically found in a more aesthetically pleasing rifle.

300 Savage but I like the 35 Remington also so I own several of both.
Still thinking of doing a bolt in 35 Remington.

I'm partial to the .300 as I use my lever actions strictly for deer and smaller game...

If it came to a choice between the two I'd opt for the 300Sav. Excellent round, Parent to the 308 and we all know how good the 308 is.

300 savage is the better cartridge. 35 rem is alright but the only decent gun it comes in now days is the TC contender.

You mean nothing wrong except for its not a Winchester, Browning or Savage....... Not all of us drink from the Marlin Koolaid tub. Some of us know fine leverguns.....

Not saying you should, but there is no doubt that marlin makes a fine rifle even if it is not your taste!!!

Don't read to much into something that's not there. The Marlins used to be pretty good, they're pretty cheesy these days with the super fat forearms, and the grandkids using that junk pressed checkering machine on the stocks before they leave the factory..... Just prefer a good many rifles over the Marlin...... Not that it's a bad rifle, just not my preference........

300 Savage obviously, since the 35 Rem. was never chambered by Savage. The best cartridge is usually defined by which one is available in a 99.

Still thinking of doing a bolt in 35 Remington. Got one in an XP-100! Shoots very well!
