My experience has been 1.5 inches or often less,3 shot groups shot slowly, heat is their enemy. You do have to learn how to shoot them on the bags, most do not like any forearm pressure.

The Remmy model 7 from the custom shop is a dandy, but I just don't care for laminated stocks - and they're heavier than necessary.

The Ruger is a peach and I'd love to have one of the newer models...but I would rather have a bit more barrel than they supply... 20 or 21 would be great for looks and balance.
My $.02

I agree, the Ruger RSI 77 needs a couple of more inches to the barrel. I always wondered why they chose 18 1/2" for that model and 20" for the RSI single shot? I use to have an old Interarms Mark X Mannlicher back in the early 80`s. I was dumb for ever selling that one!!

I have a new one coming..a 1910 Mannlicher! It appears to be in good shape, just old with no messing around. That little round is a thunder stick....270 grain bullet at 2100!

It will be here next week,it came with 4 boxes of Kynoch ammo, which I may not shoot.I'm sure they are Berdan primed and I don't mess with that any more.I made ammo years ago for one of my buds from Remington 8x57. It's supposed to even have the cleaning rod in the butt as well.Thank God,no scope has been added. Now to find 270 grain RN bullets...

I like these things,I like to walk, sit and glass, move again. You do have to accept them for what are, they're not target or bench rifles, they are walking guns.

One of mine is a Remington Custom Shop Model Seven in 7mm-08. I traded for it because the deal was right, I love Mannlicher stocks (you either love 'em or hate 'em...not much in between) and I thought it would be a handy walking around rifle. It shoots silver box Wal Mart 140gr Winchester Power Points going 2680fps (+/- 20 fps!) into 2" AT 200 YARDS, and 140gr Hornady Light Mags chrono 2950 fps, though the group opens up a little. It wears a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x with Boone & Crockett BDC reticle. If I load 140gr Nosler Partitions or 100-130 Barnes TSX, tell me what I can't kill with this rig. This performance has really made me rethink my ideas about needing my 270 for longer range. The truth is, my 270 doesn't group any better than this, and the bullet trajectories are amazingly similar.

No, if I ever go on a brown bear hunt, it stays in the safe. I may be a rifle loony but I'm not totally crazy!
