Hey guys, I need some help! A friend just asked me for load data on a .270 Win. using a 140 X Bullet, preferrably the new Triple. I only have today to get the info to him, so any help would be great!!
Thanks in Advance- memtb

I started with 54.0gr of H4831SC and worked up until I hit 2950 fps with that bullet (140 TSX). That speed gave me the best accuracy and lowest SD and ES, so I had no desire to go higher.

I strongly suspect the best performance will be obtained with H-4831, RL-22, or H-1000. I would lean toward 61 to 63 grs. H-1000 with a Federal 210 primer. 60 grs. or so of RL-22 ought to work about as well, but I would give H-1000 a try first.

I'm seeing great results with Re-19 using 130 grn Triple Shocks. (60 grn with 130's.) I would suggest starting in the neighborhood of 56 grns & work up.

I got great results with Magpro (58 grains I think) and 130 tsx's. Two one hole 3 shot groups and 3200 fps out of a used gunshow stainless/synthetic Savage with a 4200 B&L 2.5X10. I'm satisified.

My daughter's Rem. 700 loves 55.5gr IMR-4350 with a 129 LRX in Rem. cases and CCI200 primers.
If a 270 WIn. doesn't shoot IMR-4350 well, it's a finiky gun!

This thread is 16 years old. Hopefully the OP has recommended a load to his buddy by now.
Maybe even killed a few elk in the interim.......

Never too old for the classic .270 Winchester👍🏻 Just noticed this thread has been revived from October of 2004.
I wonder how memtb’s wife’s moose hunt turned out.
