Guys just won an auction on a 270 winchester in one of these and was curious about the weight of it. Heres a pic of it. I had one in a 7mm Rem Mag but never weighed it. [Linked Image]

Be a week or so but when it gets here I'll weigh it. I had been looking for one so to speak. The 7 mag ended up with my nephew and it shoots really well. Hoping this one will do the same!

Mine in 30-06 goes just over 6.25.

I've been watching that rifle for months now. You got the best buy on the 'net with that one.

If'n you don't want the stock, I'd be interested for sure.

I was hoping the weight would be in that area. I think I'll keep the stock on it, may have it repainted and bedded but its a keeper. I liked the description of the stock. Been wanting another Model 70 XTR with that stock. Thanks for the weights, I may sell the Remmy Mountain Rifle in 270 and pick up a 2.5-8 VX3 for the rifle or just try to find an older VariX III for it.

I'd take a look at the VXII 2-7. Ive had them on many Fwt's and they seem to "belong" there.

Yeah I know what ya mean TomM1, I have a VXI 2-7X33 on my remington mountain rifle in 280 rem and it just feels right. On the 270 rem. mountain rifle I have a 3-9 Leupy and it just doesn't feel as good.

Yep, I knew it. I think the stocks sell for what I'll have in the rifle. I think the pushfeed Winchesters are a good deal and well made rifles. Thanks fellas

Many folks don't know it and I've come out of several deals with a McMillan and money in my pocket besides by dropping a pushfeed into a wood take off. Greedy bastid that I am. (grin)

Well finally have the rifle in my hands and weighed it, 6.4lbs with Leupold rings and bases that are on it. So some Talley lightweights and a 2-7X33 will make this rifle a nice carry rig. Its clean and feels good in the hands. I'm happy with it so far.
