For some reason, I cant figure out how t oproperly search, so here I am kicking a dead horse.

Just got a Kimber 300 wsm. Looking to shoot 168 TTSX through it for Africa, and elk etc etc.

Any loads would be greatly appreciated. Looking to probably run H4350 or H4831sc through it as the pervious owner stated those powders shot well with partitions.

Thanks in advance!

Try 65 or 65.5 grains of H4350.

I've had great luck with H4350 and RL 17 out of my 7.82 patriot with TTSX's and AB's. I have only shot the 150 TTSX and the 165 and 180 AB. My gun is a .300 short magnum but has a different case capacity than the WSM. I think you will like either of those powders I listed though.

My Kimber Montana Loves 65.0 H4350 for 1/2 to 3/4 in. groups @ 3050 fps. Not super fast but a +P 30-06.

I've gotten sub moa groups with the 168 TSX and RL 19. One rifle was a Tikka T3 the other a Kimber Montana.

In my kimber 300 WSM, I use 66.8 gr of RL17 under the 168 TTSX @ 3170 fps w/great results. RL17 was designed for the short mags and will give a little more velocity with less pressure.

I think the 300 WSM is more than a +P 30-06, especially with RL17... loaded with that powder, it equals the average 300 WM.

But I "get" what you're referring too. IMO/E, the 300 WSM is a solid 150 - 250 fps ahead of the 30-06 depending on powders used.

Another vote for H4350, 65-65.5 has worked well in my 3.
69 gr H4831 was as accurate for me but is a compressed load, 4350
seems about perfect, speed and load density wise.

I agree with You. This load just worked out when I started with this one. My 300wsm classic liked them hotter with IMR 4350 but I just thought this was good enough. It also shoots 150 TTSX's the same at a little under 3200fps. One of these days I will try som R17 but right now this Montana settled in real quick with H4350 and I am trying to elimanate IMR 4350 but my 270wsm really likes it under 130 partitions and this combo has been a good killerfor me. 2 big bulls and 2 real nice whitetails. The biggest bull went 366 and change.

"366 and change"... dang, nice!

I've had six 300 WSM's... after farting around with every powder that seemed adequate to the cartridge, I settled on H4350. That doesn't mean I won't play with other powders (I'm going to give H4831 and RL17 a thorough workout in my current Kimber MT), but H4350 has given consistent and predictable results... 2,950 (give or take) with 180's and 3,050 with 165's.

I've taken four elk and a few mule deer and antelope with the round... I like it best as an elk round, but it sure works on everything!

I tried a bunch of powders and IMR 4831 and RL-19 worked the best for me. 69g IMR4831 with the Barnes 168TSX is what I settled on. RL17 wasn't available when I worked up my loads for my gun.

This load has havested 4 elk, 1 moose and 1 buffalo. So it seems to work.

Yes, a very nice Alberta bull. The 270 wsm just devasted it. The partition performed perfectly. Took 1 step and crashed, double lung.

I use 65 grs of RL17 and 168gr TTSX in a 24" barrel and get 3075 fps. It is a very accurate load in my ULA.

+1 on the H4350. My 300 WSM loves 71.2 grs and the 150gr Interbond. I clocked this load @ 3,336fps and it shoots 3/4". I have only had one deer out of 12 take a step. Hornady Interbonds are great if your gun will shoot them...wish they would make a 100gr for my .257 WM!

I am getting similar results as you guys. My 7.82 Patriot with 70gr H4350 and 150 TTSX shot about .65" at 100 at 3295 fps avg. It shot .5" with RL17 at 3335 fps avg. I have not really worked it up in larger bullets but the H4350 worked well with 180 AB's at about 3050 fps.

Anybody tried Magpro with the WSM's?

Ah ... I think the shooter's accuracy might have had something to do with that success as well

Hey guys, just giving this a bump. I have H4831sc on hand, would it be worth it to get a pound of H4350?

Try the H4831sc and if that don't shoot get a jug of H4350 or R17.

And if the Barnes don't shoot try some 180 Partitions.
They shoot great in mine.
