Can someone tell me the date of manufacture for serial number SA9760X?

I looked up Colt's Serialization on-line for the SAA Colt production dates.

If "this" information is correct your Colt SAA serial number SA9760X falls within the (early) 1978 3rd Generation Colt SAA numbers.

But your "SA" PREFIX should be an "SA" SUFFIX according to this list.
You may want to recheck the revolver's Serial Number/"SA" location.

SA is a prefix. I am almost positive it is was made post 1984.

SA prefix production began in '78 and ended in '94 at SA99999.
Your number would likely be '93 or '94 production.

Real close. I called Colt today and the person on the phone said 1992.
