Was down at GM the other night and the gentleman told me they are starting another run. They are on the new Remington site. Anyone have anymore info? I could be wrong, but isn't that link just highlighting the special run from back when? I can't imagine big green doing something smart like that again or adding a 260 to the lineup.

That's my thought too. The special run has been shown on their website since they were produced, even though they were not in production.

It seems as if Remington would make some statement on their website if the gun was no longer available or remove it all together; however, it still has the three short actions listed (243/7mm-08/308). Until Rem revamped their website very recently, these Mtn Guide models were shown & listed on a past spec runs section. I'd be more than shocked if Gander were to commission another run of these, considering that a great many of them were blown out @ the distributor level, after having sluggish sales @ GM stores.

Same with the Cabela's version which differed only in being blued instead of SS. They had to offer them at closeout prices to finally get rid of them. Went and checked an old post of mine from April 2008 to remember the prices.
"they had one Model 700 Mountain Guide in 7mm-08 on the clearance rack for $499. These things had started at $649 and then went down to $569."

I picked up a Cabela's version at $569. They had a rack full of them at that price, wish I could've picked up a 22-250 also.

I must apologize for giving bad information. I called Gander Mountain again and as before was told it was an up and coming "2nd run". I decided to give Remington a call and gave them the RAMAC #85511 and they said that # is in fact a past run of which there is none available. Sorry if I got anyones hopes up as I was working with bad info.

Buy a Mountain LSS. Buy a Ti stock. Find a stray ADL in your safe or buy an awful one. Swap the Ti stock onto the Mountain LSS, and the ADL bottom metal. Sell laminate stock. Grab a dremel and convert your old ADL into a BDL (or just score a crappy BDL takeoff stock.) Sell or keep the new BDL rifle. Sell the original ADL stock if you bought a new BDL stock. Resist the urge to put on a new barrel, trigger, mcmillan, or other upgradey junk, lest you render this a lesson in being overbudget.
Instant "special run". Should net out to similar costs, minus your time. But you get a better chance of having the caliber you want.
(I have one of the Cabela's versions in .308. Also purchased on clearance, for 509, iirc.)
