I'm waiting for the day when they make a rifle with a blind mag and receiver similiar to the A7.

That is a rifle that I won't be purchasing.I see no practical advantage to a blind magazine.

And I see no reason for a mag.

Different wants/needs.

Unless you use only single shot or double rifles, they have a magazine, whether it be a blind magazine,a detachable magazine,or a magazine with a hinged floorplate.I don't see any advantage to loading and unloading through the action,I have never loaded any magazine through the action, including my rifles with floorplates.

I should have been more clear and said detachable magazine.
I'm not really worried about loosing the (detachable)mag out in the field but for whatever reason like the fact that the blind magazine can't go anywhere.

No big deal, just a difference in opinion.

Do you have one of those trucker wallets with the chain on it that is attached to your belt? How about a retractable key chain that is attached to your belt? grin

I have decided on mounts.I found a set of the Burris dual dovetail bases at a local dealer. They appear to be strong, yet reasonably priced.

.223Rem.I have a 17Mach2 for ground squirrels and crows to 150 yards, then the .223 will take over and the .223 will be my go to coyote rifle.I bought the Sako because Cooper doesn't make a .223 repeater.

I have the synthetic stainless in 7-08. I have a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36. I had them on the opti-locks and bases. It just sat to high. With your advise I ordered the low ringmounts. I also beleive that the ringmounts have less chance of loosening. Less parts to loosen.
Thanks again.

Where did you order them from? I can't seem to find the ringmounts in stainless, only the Opti-Locks.
