Took the new caller out for its first run this afternoon. On the first stand out we called in a pair and the boy took the female out at about 175 yds -- I managed to miss the male as he headed out at mach 10. Caller worked great, I've hunted with other guys that had them and decided that they were the only way to go. No more blowing calls all day when it's 10 below.

Ranger1: Great work there on the Coyote!
Good for your team!
What is going on there in NE Montana?
It was 38 degrees here today, and sunny, and no snow on the ground at all here in the "high country" (5,400') of SW Montana!
Keep after'em theres more of'em out there.
Hold into the wind

Thanks - he was pretty excited. First hunt he's been on where he got to watch them come in for close to a mile. Having 100 sounds at my finger tips is nice when calling late season coyotes. When they would start to hang up I could switch up sounds or change volume or stop the sound entirely and watch the reaction through my scope. I'm pretty happy with this new caller.

Good job! Someday I'll own one of those Fox pros. A hunting buddy of mine does their sweet.

Are you using it with a decoy?? I have the Mojo Critter that I set next to the Fury, usually about 40 yards out. The problem I have is trying to get them to stop. Once they lock onto that decoy, they come right on in. Have had 2 this year nip at the decoy. I really need to get someone to go with me, then one of us could carry a shotgun to get the hard chargers.

Jrowan, I wish I lived in Kansas, I'd be glad to help you with that problem. I'm sure you'll find a willing volunteer.

If I use a decoy I use the Flambeau full size coyote decoy. They never charge it like they do a prey type decoy but it does attract and hold their attention very well.

Nate,
That call is going to spoil you. I sure do enjoy mine. Very cool getting your boy on that coyote.

Troy - what are you using for batteries in yours? I've been having trouble with it cutting out at high volume and I have to shut it off and turn it back on again to get it to work. I'm using Nimh rechargeables right now.

We slayed the coyotes this weekend - I'll throw up a pic tommorow night. One of my best weekends of calling ever.

Nate, I'm using Nimh rechargeables just like you. I don't know what to tell you about the caller cutting out. I'd call FoxPro and ask them what they recommend. I've never had that problem. I'm hoping to upgrade my FX5 soon. I'm going to buy the CS-24.

Nate they sure are a lot prettier up there where you are than over here. Around here they are so full of burrs that they aren't worth squat. To show you what I mean, here's one called in a few days ago. This was literally her good side.

P.S. when did you see the light and buy an AR? What model is it?

Love that AR - It's a RRA Coyote Rifle like yours. I bought the Coyote Carbine for the boy. Just ordered one of the new Leupold Mk AR scopes for mine and I'll put the VX II 3-9 from mine on his. 60 rounds in the mags and I'm good for whatever the day might throw at me - I like to make a little noise when I get a runner.

Great job, r1! Doesn't get much better than that. Beautiful coyotes to boot! Doesn't get much better than raising your own hunting partner! We killed one Friday that was pretty badly rubbed so it's getting close to over for me.
