Has anyone owned a Holland & Holland bolt rifle that has their quick detachable scope mounts on it?
What do you think of them?

Some claim that it is/was the best design, what do you think?

Never used them, but IIRC I was told that both H&H and JA Roberts (think the old Rigby's in London)use them and source them "in the white" from the same place, and then hand finish and fit them.

This was from somebody at JA Roberts a dozen years ago, and back then the price was something like 1500 fitted!

When I asked how were they better than Warne or Talley QD's you could have heard a pin drop! grin

The gent went on to claim that they were the only system that would reliabily hold up to the recoil on the big boomers while at the same time only require light finger pressure to tighten/untighten them...

Regards,

Peter
