Anybody ever mulled the idea of making a homemade cartridge trap from maybe PVC or copper pipe? No way will I spend ~$200 on one.

I've never had issues with escaping cartridges. What exactly seems to be the issue.

for years i used a 55 gallon drum buried in the ground with satisfactory results. then one day i testfired a shotgun and failed to fully insert the barrel into the hole in the drum. i took some shotgun pellets in the belly. after that i spend the money for a savage snail gunsmiths bullet trap. life is short already for gunsmiths, no need to tempt faith.

I'm talking about an inletted cartridge holder in a rifle stock. Goes on the bottom edge, usually. The ~$200 ones have a sliding door. NECG makes the only factory-made one I've seen.

i'm having one inletted and installed as we speak.
i bought one, your idea may work ?
