Not exactly sure what to do here. I had ordered a couple hundred seedlings from a nursery that were to ship on the 15th. Finally called today and they said they were shipped and received.
They were received, just not by me. Someone by the name of DDelaney signed for my package but I have no idea who that is and can't find them in the phone book.
Called both Fedex and nursery and only help I've received is that they're both 'looking into it'.
Problem is, I'm going to have a tough time replacing the plum and Chestnut in the size I ordered at this time of year. I also had reserved 2 different one acre clearcuts I recently had done specifically for these plants and if they don't get planted, it will be a ton of work planting next year in all the thorn and underbrush I'll have to compete with.
Any advice?

On the tracking info, it was delivered in my town and state.
Just not sure how Fedex can let someone else sign for a package.
Never saw China Beach.

They had to have identified the address of delivery and receipt. I'd be more worried if it was at your place.

Blame it on DC and plant POT instead
Actually, I'd insist on a rush re-order of the same as the original order.

Most of the signature stuff requires "adult signature", I don't think they have a requirement that it matches the person on the shiped to label.

He had to go to some identified address though, right?
Could this be one off those "off the grid" pitfalls?

Actually not the nurseries fault. Maybe they'll have a substitution they can send. I'll find out tomorrow. More I think of it, the more I want to find out who signed for my seedlings.

Depends on what the nursery put on the BOL. In the case of FedEx my signature is on file so no sig is ever required. But anytime they delivered to an alternate address they knew it. FedEx knows where the physical delivery was made. To the point of others I'd be concerned as well if someone took delivery at your residence, which you are not aware of. You can also go to FedEx.com put in the tracking number and every step-by-step is there. Also of interest was whether it was insured.

I had the same thing happen with fedex, they had rerouted my package through the post office and a postal worker signed for it. I received the package 1 or 2 days later from USPS.

The FedEx terminal that delivered my package is closed so I'll call in the morning. The tracking info doesn't show the address delivered, just the city and state.

I wouldn't care if that's what happened except my seedlings were sent out on the 15th and would most likely be dead or in poor shape by now(bareroot).

Sounds good. The 800 number and local phone number just routes to a huge call center in NJ.
Good luck.

Why isn't the FEDEX driver culpable and responsible!!?? Have you learned anything about the driver's "route" and tracked him down? Is the driver conscientious? Or the kind of person who just does whats necessary to get by?

You did go to your local fed ex facility right, not just call some 800 number. I have found if I show my face and ask questions solutions are found.
If not, take the Fed Ex driver to small claims court for the loss of productivity for missing this years planting.
