Late season hunts get pretty cold, what type of riding boots have a slim profile but still keep you warm and let you change the liners?

What have you tried, what works good, and what doesn't?

Thanks

Look at the White Boots. These are the best outdoor footwear on the planet IMHO. They make a riding boot in a pack that is just as you describe. Here's the link:

I haven't tried White's Pac boots, but I will second the quality. While they don't keep you warm, I use thier original packer with 10 inch tops and a spur shelf..........Can't beat them.........but they are not cheap........

I ride a lot in my Schnees air bob mountain hunters. Probably 95% of the cold weather hunts they work fine and you can ride without cold toes. Buy "smart wool" socks if your toes get cold, and ride on. You can hike in them just fine too, and they don't overheat you if the temp takes a turn for the better during the day. They pull in nice and tight and are probably the best "all around" boot going. Spurs fit on them well, they are slim, and they are warm, with removable thinsulate liners. On the rare times that it is damn cold, I have the Whites cowboy winter pac boots with felt liners. They too are remarkably trim for such a large boot, and they have a true cowboy heel to keep you out of trouble when riding. I really like them, but rarely wear them. I mostly wear my Whites ice fishing, they are more boot than you normally need unless you hunt in constant sub zero temps. Get both and they your are covered for anything that comes along. And don't ride with a deep foot in the stirup for any of these type boots: especially with the rubber bottoms-- if you have to bail out you might not be able to if you are riding deep stirup.
