This is kinda like not having sex with a woman because she is too beautiful....the rifle and the woman were each made for a particular purpose,and both should be put to the correct use... Would you put the woman under glass and admire her from a distance? I doubt it.....  No, but if she was too heavy to tote around in the mountains, I'd give her your phone number...... smokepole: If she's too heavy to hunt....somewhere....for something....get rid of her....

Now bob. I think you're right though, like I said I'm not afraid to bang up the stock, it's just too dang heavy to tote in the mountains where I like to hunt.
Plus, it is an M70, not a Dakota....

I don't own one at the minute, but I've had several Super Grades. The first was a 1990 300Win, the year they were introduced. Believe me...it got hunted. And it looked very fine next to the deer and moose it took!
Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

I hunt both my SuperGrades in .338 for Elk, and a .25-06 for Antelope. They have both accumulated small marks, but for me, it just adds character and memories! Hunt those rifles!

I am taking my Supergrade .338WM to Colorado this fall. It weighs a bit less than my Classic Sporter 30/06. Why should I keep it pristine so someone in the future can knock the shine off it? I bought it to use rather than to sell, so reducing its collector value a little by honest use is of no concern to me.

I had the new NC .270 WSM Super Grade for about three months. Function and cosmetically it was beaufiful. Accuracy was terrible. 1 1/2 " average; nothing MOA. Dumped it and bought a Browning .270 WSM. Medallion. Shoots MOA all day long. It's a shame because I really liked the Winchester looks and function.
