It was my uncle's favorite.

Custom 1917 Enfield 300 Norma Magnum (Thanks to the guys below for correcting my mistake). Beautiful Monte Carlo style stock and good shooter. Muzzle brake on barrel - 26" barrel including the brake.

I also have 305 rounds of reloads for this rifle. I have 256 rounds of 180 grain Nosler Partitions - (Norma Headstamp new brass) loaded for the rifle and 49 miscellaneous rounds.

I am asking $600 for the rifle with bases and rings (Scope not included) and the ammunition.

If rifle and ammo are sold separately I'm asking $450 for the rifle, rings and bases, and $225 for the ammo. My preference is to sell the rifle and ammo together.

Shipping will be actual cost to your door - Copy off FFL required for the rifle.

Thanks for your interest

It is a 1917 Enfield.

Which manufacturer?

Winchester, Remington, or Eddystone?

What is the headstamp on the reloads?

So, how can you tell it did not start life as a P14?

Thanks for the correction guys. This was listed as a Springfield in my uncle's effects.

Can one of you tell me how to determine manufacturer?

Headstamp on the Nosler loads are all Norma and appear to be new brass. The balance of the miscellaneous 45 rounds may be Remington? Says308 Norma Mag R.

It will say on the receiver ring but it is likely under the scope base.
Eddystone made about 1,181,908, Remington made 545,541, and Winchester made 545,511 so the odds are that it is an Eddystone.

Pretty easy to tell if you can see the entire bolt but lacking that a good clue is the .308" bullet of the .308 Norma Magnum in what looks very much like the factory barrel.

I pulled the scope base and it is a Remington #585484, single stage trigger and cocks when opening.

Thanks

Does it have anything written on the barrel? Couldn't possibly be a restocked Mod 30. --- Mel

I don't think any of the Model 30's ever sported that high of a serial number.
In addition, the fact that the seller had to remove the front base to find a manufacturer and serial number tells me that this is a well sporterized 1917.

I'd very much like to see the barreled action out of the stock to determine trigger manufacturer.

Even looking at the bolt would not tell you whether this had begun life as a P14 or a M1917. They are changed even easier than barrels. Pulling the base was the way to tell.
