I have to admit that I was really worried about trying to find a working load for my 7x57. I have a 1979 made tang safety Ruger which is supposedly known for exactly these problems. I am just starting my load work up, and have only tried one bullet and powder so far. But I started with what I thought was a "shoe-in" for not working. 40 to 43 grains H-4895 behind a 120 grain TTSX at a COAL of 3.125, which is still .16" off the lands. I may not run either of the other two ladder tests I have loaded for awhile. I seem to be still running a little low on pressure/velocity (2790 avg velocity for the last 4 rounds), but it has been promising enough that I will stick with this bullet and powder for now. I plan to increase the powder charge and see if the accuracy holds.
