In my limited experience of squirrel hunting I tried to use a call too. Here is what I have found.
1. Pay attention to the area you are hunting, some places the squirrels don't "talk" and any sound sends them in hiding for the day.
2. If you do find a forest where they "talk", keep yours short and sweet just a few barks works for me. My success has worked when I bark only a little when I get to my spot then sit quiet and wait. This causes curiosity among the natives and they come out to see what is going on.
3. Get a squirrel decoy. Put it about 25 feet from you head in the leaves tail up. Wait a while, bark a little and have a stick handy that you can use to imitate a squirrel digging for nuts on the ground. They come out quite quickly to see what is up.
This last one takes practice and if you get "caught" using the stick by the locals your done for!
I'd only use the call a little. Remember, your call is new to them, a stranger if you will.
Good luck.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

GREAT!
I too have had good success when using short calls. When I get bored then I want to call more, but then I usually go home empty handed.
Lots of fun isn't it!
Merry Christmas (or happy Haunaka)!
