Thanks for all the help fellas.
I think it is time to try a slower powder, the 4350 class powders don't seem to agree with my rifle/bullet combo.

Is IMR4831 temp sensitive? I don't know why but I prefer IMR to H. It seems to use a little less powder for similar performance.
I am hoping to avoid heavily compressed loads.
Keep the info coming, I am interested in what works for you with 225 grain projectiles.

IMR 4831.....That is the powder that was reccommended to me. I'm shooting the 200 SSt at paper and I have 225 Accubonds for game purposes. I haven't tested my loads for the 225 but the SST is more than acceptable at around 1 1/4". That's not my best just an average.

Running 73 grains on the 200 and 69 grains on the 225. I load them as far out as they will go then back them off the lands .020". Should get me to around 2750 fps. I plan to chronograph them next weekend.

You'll find that Accubond 2nds are a nice bargain to be had at Midway for around ........ per 50. (just checked they are 19.99 right now.) I have stocked up here on the Free Classifieds on firsts...should last me the next 10 years.

Good shooting, here is an oldy, I love to read it...I"m nuts about my .338

I also love my 338. It's a slicked up Ruger m77 with custom trigger work (breaks clean at 2#'s). Shot a .425" group one of the first times out to the range!! Consistantly shoots less than 1moa. I also like the above thread that JeffO started about the 338.
