I have a new 30-06 and a box of 500 165 grain Accubonds. Anybody using the 165 AB in your 30-06? If so, mind sharing your load/powder choice?

Any 165 out of my '06 starts with IMR4350.

My 1960's push feed model 70 likes 57gr of H4350. Great do all bullets. My other 06 shoots them better than 1moa as well.

57 gr. IMR 4350 is where it's at with my M70 Classic FWT ss/walnut in .30-06.

58 grs. of IMR 4350 here..

58.5 gr of H4350, FC brass, WLR primer. Gets 2900 fps out of a 24" barrel. Does 2800+ out of 22" barrels. Very accurate in several rifles.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a load/powder request with more consistent answers then this one.

Looks like 4350 in a narrow range of loads is the way to go.

57 grains of IMR 4350, BUT don't count the IMR 4831 out. Both my classic sporter and pre-64 like 58 grains of the 4831 and 165's.

The load which turned my '06 into a grouse guillotine was 60 gr H4831, CCI 250 primer, and the 165 ballistic tip. It ought to work just as well with an accubond.

I brought home a brand new box of 165 AB`s last nite, and some Dakota HS brass (Lapua). I`m going a bit different route and see what N550 will do for me. I have had great results in previous 30/06`s with 165`s and IMR4831 as well. Great stuff to fall back on if the N550 doesnt pan out.

59 gr of H4350
56.5 gr of H414 (mag primer)
57.5 gr of RL17

All are 2850-2950 out of my 22" Model 70 Featherweight.

Do you have to play with seating depth with the Accubond? My Nosler BT loads shoot great but when I have tried the Accubond accuracy was not as stellar? In several calibers?

With my M70 280 I found seating "real pointy" bullets closer to the lands helped my accuracy. So, if your magazine will allow it, give it a try.

I got to test the N550 today and loaded 55, 55.3, 55.6, 55.9 grains in groups of 4. 55.3 took home the prize and awarded me a .497" 4 shot group at 100 yds. the average speed for those was 3015 fps. My ballistic calculator says I need 6.25" inches for a 400 yd zero, my Zeiss 3-9 is 4 minutes from the intersecting crosshair to the point of the lower post, so I adjusted my poi to 2.25" above center. I can now hold the point of the lower post on a critter at 400 and hold dead on. I didn`t shoot the 55.6 or 55.9 as the chrono at 3015 was good as I needed it to be.

Another vote for 57.5 H4350 or 61 grs RL22 Fed210, Rem/Fed brass.
