I have a Titan 1.5-6 with the German #4. This is by far my favorite scope. I can't imagine a better set up for my hunting, I would buy more if i could. I paid $150 at my local shop, new in box.

I guess I'll shoot it first, then decide. For all I know, it may have been made in Japan and be OK. Worst case, I put on a Leupy.

I hear the new Japanese K-6x38 Weaver's are good, wonder how that would compare to the Titan cranked to 6x?

65BR, I don't have any Weavers but I think I'll shoot this one and see what it's like. I am going to hope it is a Japan model and not Chinese. Know my luck, it's probably Chinese. Sounds like at least some people like the Jap models.

dbettis, the Japan Titans had 30mm tubes and they were marked on the bottom of the main tube near the eyepeice that they were made in Japan.

I had one on a .458 Win mag. Great scope, tough as nails.

I had one in 4.5-18X50mm at least 6 or 7 years ago, maybe more. I wasn't thrilled with the 50mm objective, but I thought it was a great scope. After a few hundred rounds with a .338 Win Mag and a 12 guage slug gun (short on scopes then and it had to pull double duty), it croaked.
It had a lifetime warranty so I sent it back. I don't remember what all I had to do besides pay shipping and handling both ways, but I wasn't happy with the hassle. The replacement was out of focus and something just wasn't right with it out of the box. I think it lasted around 3 shots before it broke.
I went through the same rigamorole again, stuck the new one on a gun I was getting rid of anyway and never looked back.
