I have a box of 50 Winchester solids (.458) that were produced in the late fifties. Looking at them from the base end, it would appear that the copper cladding is quite thin. The steel portion is about 1/8" thick and the centre is lead filled. Was going to load them up and use them as practice or plinking rounds.

<br>Just wondering if anyone can tell me if these bullets are hard on the barrel or rifling or if they should remain as a collectible item ?
