When I was about fourteen or fifteen, I spied a used CO2 pistol for sale in a local pawn shop. It looked like a Luger and I think it was made somewhere in Europe. I bought the gun for ten or twelve dollars and couldn't wait to shoot it.

I inserted a new gas cylinder inside the hand grip and pressed a lever to break the seal. The first pellet shot great, but after that you could hear the remaining gas leaking out due to a bad seal or valve.

Rather than argue with the pawn shop owner over a refund, I bit the bullet (pellet) and learned to be more cautious in my future used-gun purchases.
