I am intrested in getting a 24hr campfire sporting clays shoot started in New England. I think it would be a lot of fun and a great chance for us all to meet face to face. Anyone intrested in this please post here or pm me.

Consider something easier. The Cabelas in E. Hartford would be a place to have lunch and look at the guns. It's 'climate' is more reliable inside! http://www.cabelas.com/retail-stores-east-hartford.shtml
All guns should be locked up when not in use!

I'd be up for a meet and greet.
I don't think my Carhartts, combat boots, Remington 870 Express and John Deere baseball cap would be welcome at a sporting clays "ranch!"

WTM45,All would be welcome at a sporting clays event.
ClayCrusher I want to come out for the shoot at Wern this year. If I end up making it out there for it I will let you know.
Savage99 it wouldn't be till spring as I would have to arrange all of this. Put it doesn't appear that to many would show.

If you want to organize a meet and greet at the E. Harford Cabelas then fine with me.
The clays shoot is not for me.

I can show you the RBL. You never said you were intrested in it. When do you want to see it?

I have so many guns that I can't get to all of them. I was thinking that an easy going meet at say a gunshop would be fun. Your throwing cold water on it. That RBL you have has 28" barrels. Link to MCH's RBL I was thinking that 28" is too long however a Bernadelli that here measures 27.5" and I can hit well with it. What I am thinking is that I would rather just go up to Cabelas, see old Joe in the Library or perhaps meet a 24hr member and talk.

The guy prefers to actually shoot. How is that throwing cold water on it? Most would rather shoot a shotgun than look at it.
All are welcome on any public sporting clay course that I know of. You can shoot any 12ga and smaller shotgun. The dress code is that there usually isn't one, and if there is, it's damn casual. I've seen it all and the Carhartts guys often know their way around a shotgun.
Hit or miss it is a great way to spend an afternoon and just perhaps improve one abilities. It is not even necessary or mandatory that one keeps score.

Savage99,
Have I even mentioned that I am not a fan of cabela's???? No one wants to go shoot sporting clays, so I dare not ask if anyone wants to head to Blue Trails for some rifle or pistol shooting, or Hall's Arrow to sling some arrows. I guess there are a lot of talkers and not so many do'ers on here.

Long haul for me, but if enough are willing count me in. I'll bring a shotgun, rifles and a pistol. Make it a weekend of shooting and it should be a lot of fun.
I can go 1.5 hours away and hit Cabela's. They are pretty much all the same with the exception of old Joe, and he probably wouldn't like me anyway.

I shoot a lot of clays locally with buddies (informally, so don't ask for my NSCA number ). If I wanted to shoot at my local club instead, would you be so inclined to travel here? Does that mean you don't like to shoot? Lots of us love to shoot, not not to travel across multiple state lines for an afternoon of it, unless it's a hardcore tournament shooter with lots on the line. For me at least, I much prefer a relaxed afternoon with a few buddies, just having fun, and being able to be home in 30 minutes afterwards.

Yep, I'm not spending 10 hours driving to shoot a round of clays when I can do the same here at multiple places close to home.
Certainly not doing so to walk into Cabela's and talk. Has nothing to do with doing. Make it more than just a day at the range and I'm in. Takes a lot of effort and commitment to bring it off.

Sounds like a good plan for a summer day.
Trap, skeet, sporting, rifles, .22course, pistol, food, indoor facilities and more than a couple 'fire soles from the Pittsburgh and Ohio area.
PM on the way.

A very nice sporting clays course, at $25 per 100 birds. Trap and skeet are I think $3.00 or $3.50 per round. Out to 600 yards. Steel in the woods for 22 rifle (out to something like 197 yards!) along with an overlapping 22 pistol steel course, as well as a separate centerfire pistol steel course. Food inside, barbecue grills outside. and more than a couple 'fire soles from the Pittsburgh and Ohio area. Seems like more and more all the time. We'll see if we can put together an afternoon of fun and festivities, after the weather breaks...
