I've bought a Bushnell trophy 6-18x40 ,and while I don't have any other complaints, one thing has me stumped - even though it has a set of target turrets, for the life of me I can't see any way to loosen the knobs and reset them to zero after the rifle is sighted in. The usual screws on top of the turrets are missing and there is nothing about it in the instructions. Can it be done in some way that I'm overlooking?

Do they pop-up if you pull on them so that they will "free wheel" ? than you just pop them back down? I have a Leupold LPS scope that works that way.

Yep,tried all that, pushing down, pulling up with no luck, unless they are stuck.
I'll probably take it back to the gunshop when I get time.

From the instruction manual: RESETTING THE ADJUSTMENT SCALE RING This step is not necessary, but, for future reference, you may want to realign the zero marks on the Adjustment Scale Rings with the index dots. 1. Using a jeweler's screwdriver, loosen the Phillips screw on the Adjustment Scale about 1/2 turn. Take care not to disturb your zero by "losing" a click or two when loosening the screws. 2. Rotate the Adjustment Scale Ring (which should now turn freely) to align the "0" with the Index Dot. 3. Retighten the screw in the Adjustment Scale and reinstall the Elevation and Windage Adjustment Knobs.

The only trouble is, thats not actually in my instruction manual and the turret knobs do not have screws of any sort. Where the screws are normally situated there what what looks like small raised knurled knobs, they do not move though as they are a part of the main adjustment knobs.

I have been using a Bushnell Trophy 6-18X40 for several years on my Savage 112 single shot 22-250. It may be a slightly different model than your scope, mine is equipped with 1/8 moa click adjustments. My scope has a thumb screw under the turet cap which may be completely removed, then the adjustment cap may be taken off and replaced in any position desired. Perhaps the enclosed photos will help explain.

How have you found this scope to be in terms of its ability to hold zero and the precision of its adjustments. I've thought about putting one of these on my .22-250.

I have been very happy with mine. While I do not typically mess with the turets much, once I have my rifles zeroed at 300 yd or so, I have experimented with the tracking on this scope. Point of impact moves where it should and comes back to zero when the turets are moved back. There is nothing wrong with a scope that will let an untrained farmboy shoot groups like this with a bone stock $300 Savage rifle in 22-250. I have less than $500 invested in the whole rig, brand new.

Idaho_Shooter,
That's what mine look like, but the thumb screws where really tight and I couldn't budge them by hand at all, but a set of plyers did the job.
Damn, they could have put that in the instructions.
Anyway,problem solved,thank you very much.
