my 6mm has wounded many a deer to death but I admit....sometimes it took all three rings of steel to do it.

Hey Swampman...Even 12 year old girls can kill whitetail with a 7mm-08. Take a look for yourself. She wasnt shooting Corelokts either so we found the deer.

I have only lost 1 deer in the past 6-7 yrs and that was with archery equipment.

Gosh, I'm glad no one told me a 7/08 just wounds animals.

I hate to pile on as so many do here but your off your med's if you think there is any difference between the 270,30-06,7mm-08 for killing deer in the lower 48

Never shot anything with a 7-08 can't see there is that much difference though between it and the 7x57 I do use on occ.. I like the 6mm Rem on antelope as well as the 243W, lotta 1 shot kills with those 2 units.. A buddy of mine sure has made a pile of 1 shot kills with his old 788 in 6mm, yeah a hell of alot more than he got with his 7-08's. Must of been because he secretly knew it was a week sister outfit and was extra careful on his bullet placement, I suppose...cause he never heard of swampy. Magnum Man
