aalf, I forget the dates that you were hosting the Southern Wisconsin long range shooting get together, could you refresh my memory please? (grin).

I was in your neck of the woods this weekend chasing gobblers, They were gobbling like crazy. And, my son learned all about buck(turkey) fever, It's a long story I can tell you at your 1st annual get together. (double grin)....

Well [bleep], you musta not got the memo, it was last week..... grin

I'm guessing the hunting story doesn't end with fresh turkey breast on the grill..... bummer......
bet he's more determined than ever now.

I drew for this coming week. Weather looks good for the first couple of days, then all down hill. My "shootin' range" is my huntin' spot too.

Where abouts were you?

So yours wouldn't shoot the 115s either?

I put together a 20 lb heavy varmint 30" 6-284 with a bartlein 5R 1 in 7.5 twist. Tried to get the 115 DTACs to shoot but finally gave up and went to the 107s. The sierras shoot fine. I know I am not maxing out the velocity but at 3265 but I cannot complain. Barrel life is precious with this chambering so I stopped when I got excellent accuracy.

Unfortunately my rig is a single shot arrangment as it is a SA Rem 700.

Always good to hear of others experiences.

man that is one heck of a long range combo. if you check the ballistics you will find there isn't too much that can hang with that little combo you got there short of a 338 lapua. I am doing up a very similar rifle, 8 twist barrel, #5 krieger 5r, reminton classic stock, BAT vr action, only in 243 AI.

I'm shocked that you had that much patience with it. grin
Glad you got it sorted out, that's a nice rig.
