The 3000's are the 2000's with an alumunum tube instead of steel. I have been waiting for some hot deals on the 2000's and 3000's, so far people are still trying to get top dollar for them.

I agree. The glass is so clear and bright, the scope is built like a tank, and the turrets are solid. You really see it when you bring several guns to the range with you, and suddenly look through the Meopro. It has a wow factor. I really believe it is on par with my Kahles scopes.

How do the Meopta scopes compare to the Zeiss Conquest scopes?

It is rumored that Meopta makes the glass for the Conquests...

I like the Meoptas better...

That is correct. Meopta does supply the optics for the Conquest scopes, however the entire optical design has as much influence on image quality as the lenses and coatings used.

I have read it somewhere that Meopta supplies the main tube with objective and ocular lenses. Erector assembly (tube, lenses, reticle) comes from Zeiss.

I paid $365 for my last Meopro 3-9, so a little less money than the zeiss too.

I've got one in the standard plex, and with the #4. Both are really nice.

I own Meostar Binos and a Meostar scope, both are fantastic visually, and never had a problem mechanically. A step above Leupold and other mid-priced gear, in my opinion.

I have a couple of the Artermis scopes, and would agree with the above along with the comments about them being a touch heavy and having eye relief on the short side.

That said, I have a 4x32mm Artermis on my 9.3x62mm and even though I wear specs, I've never had a problem with the eye relief. I replaced it at one stage with a 4x36mm S&B, but ended up swithcing back and selling the S&B as it never did anything the Meopta didn't...

One other potential negative about the Artermis range is that I don't think they use one piece tubes for their main construction..Not sure about the newer Meopta scope ranges though..

Meopta build scopes and spotters for a number of other company's under contract...I believe the Zeiss spotters are actually built by Meopta, although they are built to Zeiss design/specifications.

Meopta is actually a very large and long established European optics companies that not only build sporting optics, but things like enlargers, projectors, sub periscopes ect..
