Looking at a Pistol with a Charles Daly 4x Gloss pistol scope on it: Wondering who may have made it? (japan)
If someone has knowledge of these; what is the quality?

Wondering how much I should allow if I purchase packge, or what it's worth if I go iron sights(which I expect to do).

Can't tell you who made it. But I can tell you that they were imported by Kassner Imports. They offered a lifetime warranty. However, Kassner is now out of business, and so is the warranty... frown I'd lay odds that it was likely made by the same firm who makes Tasco...

Saw a Tasco once that was mounted on a .44 Mag... It lasted exactly 5 shots, and then: Poof! No crosshair... frown

Magnum handguns are very hard on scopes... I'd buy something that I could at least get fixed.... JMHO...

Charles Daly is a trade name. And has been bought and sold several times over it's history. And CD products have also been imported by several different entities over the years. As well as the scopes have been made by several different manufacturers over the years. Baasically it is pretty close to impossible to track the true origination of about anything CD made. Alot of the firearms can even be difficult to all but a handful of experts.

I worked for them for years. In just the years that I worked for them CD had two different importers, and several differnt mfrs.

They were basically an inexpensive imported scope. I would not put a value of anymore than $50 on the scope. Tom.
