I would appreciate input on reloading for the Super. Most particularly on your preferred types of brass and bullets for range work.

I have stayed away from nickel plated brass for rifles after reading and hearing less than favorable comments from a number of people. Is nickel an issue with pistol brass as well?

Recommended bullets? Have you found a powder that is consistently good from pistol to pistol?

R-P nickel is probably still the best brass out there. It's tough as nails.

Depending on what you want to do with it, I liked Unique for my plinking loads with a 125 cast LRN bullet. It shot well and didn't seem to be too dirty in that application.
For "high-performance" loads, I used HS-7 or AA#7 for the rootin'-tootin' pushemfast loads with 115JHPs or 125 JSPs. I didn't mess much with the heavier bullets, I had .357s for that.

I didn't try to "make Major" with it for IPSC use, I had other pistols for that, but it made a great groundhog/coyote/whateverneedskilling load, and it shot flat enough to make me happy. Mine was a '70 Series with a Barsto and adjustable sights, and not much else done to it.

Have to agree that Remington nickel brass is about the best out there but I really have not found any "bad" brass for the Super. But if you are just starting up it is the way I would go.

Unique, HP38/Win231 and SR4756 are the powders I mainly use. THE most accurate bullet is the Hornady 124 grain TC. I ran this bullet with 7.0 grains of Unique for years but recently dropped down to 6.0 grains...no difference in accuracy noted. Recently I also purchased some of the Berry's plated 124 grain hollow base bullets that I expect will be very accurate also. They have the bearing surface of a 147 and are nose heavy...
