Has anyone shot one of these yet? They come in 6mm Remington. They are pricey but good looking. Would like to hear any comments on their performance.

I had consdidered purchasing one till I saw the price they were asking for a new one.

I have the 700 CDL SF Ltd. in the 257 Bob. Nice wood, shoots good too. Not a fan of the super thick recoil pads.

I'll plan to wait till I can find one contentiously pre-enjoyed, at a more reasonable price. I've had two other Rem 700 6mm's and they shot better than MOA with my loads. I would expect these to to the same.

I agree with you on the ridiculous recoil pad. I had the can't helpits for one of the 6mm's till I saw what they were asking for them. Like Steelhead says, I am pretty sure I can put one together for the same price.

I like the barreled actions, but am not a fan of the pistol grip geometry of the 700 CDL stocks. Too open for my taste.

I do like the 24" flutted magnum contour barrels on the CDL-SFs.

I have the CDLSF 3006 - - smile It's in a Alaskain Ti stock with a fluted bolt, old pix. It wears a burris Eurodiamond LRS, 30MM 1.5-6-40 now. The rifle has bang flopped every deer I've pulled the trigger on with 180gr Nosler.

I've got one in 260 Rem that handles and shoots great. Being a Westerner, I liked the idea of a 260 Rem with a 24 inch barrel.

I can understand the thinking of installing that horrendous recoil pad on heavy recoiling rifles, but it baffles me when they put it on rifles that don't kick.

They probably do it to make the manufacturing process simplier. You know, one size fits all. It bugs the heck out of me as well. I saw a Ruger 77 chambered in .204 Ruger with a recoil pad. Now that was stupid.

I was seriously considering purchasing one of the new 700 CDL SF's in 6mm Remington. I already have one 6mm but you can never have too many!! I am not getting one completely based on that hideous recoil pad they have on those. They completely ruin the looks of what could be one of the most attractive rifles Remington has ever made!! If I purchased on, then I would have to buy a stock also and there goes some more money down the tubes. Love the fact that they are putting 24" barrels on them as a lot of the rounds chamberd in them to include the 6mm deserve a longer barrel than 22".

One thing to be said about recoil pads is that they keep the gun from skidding.
