This rifle was custom built by Empire Rifles on an Empire 98S Mauser action. The gun is a collectable, low serial number, rifle and is upgraded with Empires magnum 4+1 drop box and also features their premium fluted barrel. Total replacement cost of the rifle is over $6,000 and wait time for a new rifle would be well over a year. I purchased this rifle with the expectations of taking it out West for an Elk hunt last year. However, after having extremely successful whitetail seasons the past few years I have instead decided to return for more whitetail hunts this year once again. So my loss here can be your gain� This rifle is chambered for the extremely versatile 300 Remington Ultra Magnum. The .300 Rum is one of the hardest hitting, flattest shooting, .30 caliber factory rounds ever offered. The round is known for its accuracy, velocity, and unmatched ballistic performance as a big-game cartridge. Additionally, with the introduction of Remington�s �power level� ammunitions, this rifle can duplicate the performance of both the 30-06, and .300 Win Mag cartridges with factory loads, while also providing the flat trajectories and down range energies inherent in the .300 Rum chambering. Scope and rings are available at an additional cost.

Is Empire still in business??

I don't think Empire is still in business. The number on their website is disconnected and I know of a handfull of folk who are pursuing legal action against the owner.
