my wife went down to abq., to get her hair done, and while down there went by the sportsmans wharehouse.

she bought me a pair of redfield 10x42 bino's.

so far i've tried them out in dawn, during the day, and at dusk conditions.

first off, they appear to be very well made.
center focus with right side fine adjustment.

to my eye's there is no ring or hue detectable in any lighting conditions.
they are bright and clear, and low light conditions are still bright, where with the naked eye, i cannot detect features, but with these i can see objects very clearly.
no animals yet were viewed !

they fit my hands very well, and the screw out lens cups, feel comfortable against my face.

for 150 bucks, they are great !

when she told me she bought them, i was a bit hesitant, but now i gotta kiss her.

now for what i don't like.

for their size, they feel heavy, but i think with the weight also comes stability.
the only other thing i don't kinda care for, is the center focus adjustment is very touchy.
just a lil twist and the focus changes. we'll see if this becomes an issue.
the front lens caps, have spring loaded buttons that hold them in, the rear is just a one piece rubber eye piece fitting cover with a provision for attaching a cord of sorts to prevent losing it.

i really like em so far, but time will tell.

great value in my opinion for the price.
now to compare them to a pair of 10x42 zeiss classic's !

those rebels are pretty darn good units. I was set on buying those as a low cost binocular for my 9 year old son. that is until I got a pair of columbia timberlines from doug. they are about as good as the rebels but for half the price. anyways you did good with those rebels and perhaps them being a leupold product gives them added value in the event the warranty is ever needed.

the 8x32 model rebel is also very good if a guy wants a smaller binocular.

You think the Rebels are better than the Kruger Timberlines? The Rebels I have are nowhere near as good as the Timberlines, must have got a bad pair, after about 10 min looking thru the Rebels I'am seeing double.

I like paper towel tubes for hunting in the East, I will bring out the big guns when I go west!! wraping paper tubes!! narrow field of view but they really reach out there. grin
