I have never had a gun company except for Beretta send a gun back to me telling me I was wrong and the gun was fine. So I sold it and never bought another Beretta.

Thanks for sharing that story, that is unreal. I like the way the little rifle feels in my hands, but this story sort of puts the icing on the cake regards not wanting to own one again. That is a sad tale.
I have come to the conclusion that the best way to shoot the 7.62 x 39 is out of an AK or SKS rifle. If you want to shoot it in an AR I think that the AR Performance guy makes an upper that is supposed to work. For my money to hunt deer with its a 223 using a good bullet.

Remember this rifle he is talking about is a 1980 issue. 31 years later we see better gear. Same as automobiles.

I did not see that or just did not understand (my internet reading skills suck at times). My first Mini 14 I paid $139.00 for at a big box store in Reno Nevada in 1977 or 1978. Enjoyed the rifle it was cheap to shoot, I wasted a truck load of Jack Rabbits with it. I have always enjoyed the little rifles but never have had one that was that accurate. Never had a firing pin break in the ones I have owned. To your other point 31 years is a long time to hold a grudge!

My son purchased a New Mini-30 Tactical several months ago. This was a total POS. The charging handle would literally fall off and away from the bolt when pulled all the way back. I called Ruger and they said to send it back as they had a bad batch and would fix it for free. When it came back it did the same thing. Ruger CS told me it was within specs and there was nothing more they could do. You can read more here. http://charlie6.org/c6forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=234

Ok so you got a lemon, same as automobiles. I have a 2010 mdel SS ruger mini HB with tuning barrel in .223 that will put holes all on and around a quarter all day at 300 yds.= 1.5 inch That is the best semi auto I have ever owned and I've seen a few over the last 40 years in many different calibers. I've posted pictures of it and the targets in the AR posts.

Ok so you got a lemon, same as automobiles. Not really a "Lemon" just another Ruger. This issue is pretty common actually. Sad, but common. http://charlie6.org/c6forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=333

I don't think your going to change the world Steve, people are still going to buy them. Next I have sent guns back to several major manufacturers, they all make lemons these days more so than most expect. I think we all get it regards the firing pin, that right there is single good enough reason never to own one again, why I can remove an AR firing pin in less than 1 minute. The poor OP probably has his rifle in the classified right about now at half price....
