Specifically in. 257 Weatherby but info on the rifle is helpful also.....

Karnis has one in 257 bee I know that and Sactoller has one for sale in the classifieds at a nice price.

Fluted barrel Vanguard with a B&C stock. I think the Backcountry will go down as one of the better Vanguards made because the SS used in it is superior to what is now sold in the Vanguard. Weatherby no longer advertises 410 alloy and has probably gone to 416 ...410 is stronger and is more rust resistant. If I had a choice to make between SS vanguards I would always pick the older model SS rifle.

I have one and it is a great rifle. It was the weight that had me interested in it.

Are they currently in production? Can't find em on the Weatherby site....

Very nice rifles. Wish I'd have picked one up a few years back when they discontinued them. Seems the ones I find that are still NIB cost more than the ones I saw a year or two ago. Guess that's what I get for waiting.

I don't have a backcountry but just a standard Vangard chambered to the cartridge you're talking about.

Buy it. You won't regret it.

I got one of the new S2's in 22-250 and a friend has one in .300 win. Both shoot really well and they have pretty good triggers out of the box. They are not lightweights, but are an excellant value.
