A friend just showed me a Savage 99 takedown in 30 30 and said he would like to find a 410 shotgun barrel for it. This is probably an expensive option but thought I would throw it out there as I an not familiar with this. Any ideas where to find one and are they fitted to each gun? I should have wrote the serial number down but if needed I can get it. Thanks

Let me add another question, seeing I always wondered about these myself, is the 410 a single shot after adding the barrel? Or does it use the rotary magazine?

I had and used one, they are more of a pain then they are worth. you have to use 2 1/2 Inch shell. which are sometimes hard to find, they are ok for small game if you only want to play around. some say they are good in an emergency. but will you have it and ammo in a real emergency.

I never felt good about taking my sighted in deer rifle apart and hunting small game then putting it back togather and deer hunting at deer camp. to many things can go wrong normally you don't have to add other factors that may cause a miss or missfire.. but they add $400.00 to the cost/ value to your rig JMO grin

Novelty item. They came in 22, 24, & 26". Several variations of the forearm attach mechanism.

Thanks for the info. I guess we will have to learn more about it especially if the forearm is specific to a barrel. May be more trouble than worth.
