Anybody use this powder for .308?
I ran out of varget and loaded up a few test rounds with 46 grains blc-2 using 150 sierra bullets to plink with in my rem sps and shot them today at 200 yards and i actually got one of best groups so far with this rifle, just over an inch. I dont think its as fast as varget but if its more accurate i may have to load up a batch and give em another try.

My 223 loves BLC-2 powder. I also saw that you could use it in the 308 but haven't done so yet. Keep them coming......I'd like to know if anyone else uses it too..

Yep, I use it in my .308 Win and my 6ppc. Works well in both guns, although Varget is the preferred powder in .308.

At the risk of mis-stating a fact, wasn't BL-C2 originally formulated for the .308 (7.62 NATO)? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that has been my understanding. I have been using BL-C2 in all of its permutations, from original old military surplus lots to modern commercially made stuff, in .308-class cartridges with complete satisfaction.

It's almost a twin to W-748 , which is an excellent .308 powder also !

I've found it can give extremely good accuracy with 168 grain bullets. LC match brass, a hot primer and 43 grains is an easy going load that wants to stack them in the same hole, given a capable rifle of course.

BLC2 works great in the 308. Burns kinda dirty though.

I run Varget or R-15 in my target rifle. 4895 in my hunting rifle........

Just might have to give that one a try...

I took it straight out of the "match loads for GI brass" section of the Hodgdon No.26 manual.

My brother used to use it in his 308 exclusively. Tried Varget for a while, too. He uses nothing but 748 now. More flexible and works as well or better than either of the other two for his/our purposes.

Gnoahhh. I think you are 100% correct that Bl-c was developed for the Nato round.

I used to use it with the Sierra 165 gr. Gameking for a while. great powder, lots of muzzle flash though for those end of shooting hours shots.
