Actually a .308 WIN, but I use Hornady 165 grain Interlock's - probably much more bullet weight than needed, but I own 400+ of them I accumulated during my .300 WIN MAG days - just using them up (slowly) in handloads. Yep, rub that corn in and they will jump up and run!

Ps. Those 165 grain bullets shoot right at MOA in that cantankerous M88, 150's are all over the place in that gun at 2 - 3 MOA.

Just one so far, decent 10 pt whitetail with the new 7-08 M70 Fwt. Still got 2 doe tags, but will only have 2 days left to hunt during regular season. There will be a week of doe hunting in January, we'll see.

Thanks for the explanation! I had never heard that before.

One through three taken with X-Bolt 308 using 150gr SSTs over 47gr of Varget;

1. "doe" that turned out to be a button buck, not proud of the misidentification.
2. Doe at 100 yds ran in a 40 foot circle almost back to spot she was shot at. Never saw one do that before.
3. 11 point buck at 96yds. He made about 40 yds before giving it up.
4. A mature doe right at 200 yds, my longest shot ever at a WT deer. Rifle is a Kimber Montana in 257 Roberts loaded with 110gr Accubonds over 46gr RL 19. First blood for the Kimber and I love that little rig!
5. I'm done with the deer, but there's pigs, yotes and lots of skunks that need thining out.

Never fails...after passing on a dozen different little bucks, and unable to get a shot at three "keepers" (One of which taunted me by standing broadside 150 yards on the wrong side of the fence) it came down to the last afternoon of the season...

Thanks, it's a .308 WIN, made in 1963 (but has an early post-64 basketweave style stock - don't know if it came that way or if the original was replaced, bought it used in the mid-1990's).

Started off the season with an average WY antelope buck at 250 yds in October.

A week later shot the smallest button buck I've ever seen with my bow at 52 yards.

A week after that shot a spike buck with my muzzleloader.

On the fifth day of our gun season in November I shot a buck with a really impressive left antler and a really unimpressive right antler. Used my Belgium Browning BAR 30-06.

Saturday I shot a button buck with my 7mm mag.

I can still shoot a couple more does with my muzzleloader plus a couple of bucks and unlimited does with my bow. It ain't over yet!
